What’s a good video to watch to learn to run flluidnc. Then maybe I won’t have to bother you as often.

Not sure there are any.

What are you trying to do? We can help you, no worries, new users questions are good. It teaches me where the instructions are lacking.

Most people use it just to move to the starting position and start a gcode file.

I guess that’s what I’m looking to do. I have some cabinets I need to cut out of a full sheet. And I would like to try some 3D carvings with it. My old 2 by 4 CNC doesn’t have the rigidity for that. Or it’s to small. I’m used to Mach3 so I was wondering how to achieve the same results in fluidnc. Zeroing everything out and start in a new spot on the table. Things like that. How to start in the middle of a job if I stop one of my big job for the day. Once i get things dialed in i shouldn’t need to edit anything anymore. But i don’t know how to edit my config file if I need to change my end stop pull off.

Fluidnc is just a play button like mach 3 sorta. The real work is done by your CAM software (fusion, estlcam, whatever).
Have a look at the milling basics page, let me know if that helps.

I’ll check out the page closer tomorrow. But what I’ve just read it looks like it should help. Thanks.

We have a winner. I need a little more work to it but I got it to work. I think I have a limit switch on the X and Y mixed up. The switch activates but it doesn’t stop the motor. I’ll fix that once I put the gantry strut on. I tried the crown test. And when that went well I jumped into cutting the struts right away. My plan is to cut out the torsion box table for it Wednesday.
After I get my table built I’ll have to figure out how to add the touch plate to the software. And what I will need to do to get the M5 pendant working. I just want to start cutting with it so I’ll keep using my laptop for now.
I can’t even explain how much fun I was having with it cutting out the struts. I wanted to keep going but I need to get those gantry struts on first.

Love to see a new crown!

Just want to jump in on this point. You will always need the laptop to generate your tool paths, you can start the file from the pendant, laptop, or phone. The pendant is actually still a pretty advanced project and I do not recommend it at first.
