Esp32 not properly powered through Jackpot

I recently purchased a Jackpot controller and am using my own clone ESP32-WROOM-32 board on it.
I’m powering the Jackpot with a 200W 24V PSU.

When I connect a USB-C cable to the ESP32 I can connect to the web interface just fine, but when it’s only being powered by the Jackpot, I can’t connect to it.

Am I missing something? Does the ESP32 need its own 5V PSU?

It does not. Can you post a picture of your jackpot with the esp board attached?

It seems to be missing some pins? At least not all of the pins on the board are being used. This seems wrong to me.

yes…it looks like you have the wrong ESP32 board there…there are 30 pin and 38 pin varients, along with devkit c and devkit M. You want the one with this pinout.

Interestingly, it looks like Ryans jackpot board has pins 9 and 10 transposed. I wonder if that is just on the silkscreen or are the actual i/o pins reversed???

Yep that’ll be the issue. Easy fix bar the waiting

It seems that out of a stack of about 10 ESP32s I bought for home automation, exactly one of them is different from the others and has the correction pinout
