ER20 Collet to 1/4” Extension

Has anyone tried using one of these?

My 1/8” collet gets pushed in too far and is really hard to remove so I’m trying to make it easier to switch between 1/4” & 1/8” bits. I’d also like the option to use metric bit sizes.

I don’t necessarily want the extra length but it would help to give a little more clearance when using small v-bits. I have a drop table so the extra length won’t be an issue.

A couple potential downsides I see are runout issues and the increased moment arm due to the longer tool length.

Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

Going to add quite a bit of lever to the endmill. Probably not going to end well.
