Just ordered the last of the parts (hopefully) that I need for my first build… except for the DWP611. I can’t seem to find it anywhere. The Amazon link included on the parts list says “currently unavailable”, Home Depot, etc are all out of stock and have been for weeks.
Is there any known issue (discontuation or something) causing it to be out of stock, or am I just unlucky? Are there any other similar routers I could use instead that would fit the included mounting bracket? Or am I better off just waiting and hoping the DWP611 becomes available again? I haven’t started really putting anything together yet, so I don’t have much of a grasp on what’s important as far as mounting one or anything…
I’m running the Makita. Was simple to drill the 4 holes for the Makita in the existing plate. Only thing really missing on the Makita is the LED lights. It looks to me like Home Depot has dropped the Dewalt as you can’t even order it on line anymore.
I just bought one yesterday Ace Hardware had one in stock you might check them if you have an Ace Hardware in your area. I think they had it still because people don’t think of them as a place to get that sort of thing. The Ace hardware website shows them available also. Hope this helps you.
Thanks for the suggestion Tom! I am about to start my build and also discovered the 611 being sold out everywhere. One of my Local Ace hardwares had one and I scooped it up this morning.
I just picked up the Makita, the holes to mount it are very close to the big hole in the 611 plate. I will probably cut a new mount plate eventually but you can make it work. The router is a bit louder than my small ridgid router but the rpm range is nice. I also had issues sourcing the 611 router.
