Dustshoe for Carbide3d ER11 Router

Hello all! Just built my first LR4, and went with the Carbide 3d ER11 router. My question is: is there a dust-shoe that works with this router that has already been developed? Appreciate any help!

The carbide router looks like it has the same 65mm diameter as the Makita, and overall looks the same - I imagine the Makita mount would work. Maybe someone can confirm.

WELCOME!!

Yes I also use the Carbide 3D and it is perfect using the Makita holder Also be sure to go ahead and print an extra pop on massively clever skirt and snap on holder at the longer skirt length linked on the build section.

Thanks for the help!

Been a little busy, sorry for the late reply!

Printed and installed, but it looks like Ill have to take off dust shoe each time I change bits.

Is that your experience, too?

Yes, that’s correct.

Thanks for the info!

Ill have to try my hand at designing something that eliminates the bolting!

Wonder if magnets would work!

Only the lower part that has the TPU bristles needs to be removed. It slips on and off.

Ill take another look, but the dustshoe seems to block my access to hold back-up to loosen my collet. Maybe I can access from behind, I will check!

Took a look, it seems to definitely block access, it seems

I have this same issue with mine - it’s easy enough to access the button to hold the collet and then use a wrench on the nut, but if you want to use two wrenches to get a better grip on your end mill without tweaking the whole machine - there isn’t enough room to get the two wrenches in without removing the entire dust shoe.

Doug Joseph has a redesigned mount on printables that looks like it might work, allowing to just remove the lower part with the bristles, and then have access to use both wrenches:

I’m printing it now to try it out - maybe it will work for you as well. Take a look.

I was a hard core two wrench collet guy and when I built my LR4 I was a little skeptical of using the button but after the first few tries realized it works perfect with the button and a single wrench. never had issues. Was slightly awkward at first as the wrench is in my left hand but easily got used to it :+1:

Oh ok - good to know. Maybe I’m overly paranoid of putting torque on the printed parts.
