Dust Hose and Clamps

I just saw this was on sale with different kinds of clamps. Do I need these clamps and if so, which is better? I’m assuming the screw kind is better than the spring type.

I don’t think I need 20 feet but I don’t think 10 feet is enough.

It’s about $10 cheaper than what I had been looking at.

You always need dust hose. Just get it. I’d take the screws.

Same.

I have a similar pack. The hose is good quality and you can use the wire for grounding if you remove the insulation on one end. The clamps are easy to use.

Anyone have an adapter for connecting a 2.5 inch hose to the standard LR3 dust shoe? I suppose I could just print a rigid pipe to the top of the router and use a plain adapter. Otherwise, it has to be offset.

I’m trying not to do anything too crazy since this is really just sorting out how to nicely run a vacuum hose. I plan to build a new table and upgrade (and downsize) to an LR4 in a few months so this is for getting and testing ideas. You know, so I can overthink building a table again.

This is the one I used on my LR3 before switching to the floating dust shoe that @DougJoseph made

Hmm, not sure that will work since I have a Kobalt.

Not sure. But might be worth a try

Does .STL and .SCAD at LowRider 3 Vac Hose adapter (2.5"), and parametric SCAD by AzaB2C | Download free STL model | Printables.com help? Made for Makita, but maybe the parametric .SCAD there can be tweaked for your Kobalt.

This is what I had in my head so I made it in FreeCAD and it’s printing now.

Yep, that’ll work.

@azab2c’s hose hangers work great.

Now I need to sort out how to ground the hose. I know it has a wire in it but not quite sure how to tackle that.

Neat! Hope the part works out for you. Honestly though, it could do with update/remix that adds more material to where the mount bolt goes through.

EDIT: Just shared latest lr3-hose-hanger-2.5.f3d and lr3-hose-hanger-2.5.step on printables, and at https://github.com/aaronse/v1engineering-mods/tree/main/lowrider3/vac-hose-hanger incase anyone experiences part break and/or wants to mod further…

I’m following this topic with an eye to figuring out how to adapt below for the LR4. My CAD skills are quite rusty (Unigraphics 4 anyone?) and I’m just learning Fusion. So many method changes!
