Dollhouse (MPCNC) - AKA: That took longer than I thought it would

I made a dollhouse for my niece’s birthday. Missed the date by several months but we’re delivering it today. I cut down an IKEA shelf that someone gave me, cut the windows out by laying the wood into the side of the CNC and doing one at a time. The molding is all 1/4" mdf. Same material for the stairs. It didn’t occur to me until after I was done that I could have housed the esp32 under the stairs. Oh yeah, it’s lighting system is controlled with the ESP32. For now it’s just overkill for switching but software version 2 will make it a smart device, hopefully using Matter. My wife made much of the furniture. I made the coffee table and the kitchen table. The kitchen, bath, and shelving stuff is just purchased from Amazon. I also cut out some acrylic to put in the windows. I’m aware that my 5 year old niece and her 3 year old brother are going to destroy this thing but that’s ok. They’re going to love it.

Thank you! What they say is true. I didn’t do this because it’s easy. I did it because I THOUGHT it would be easy.

Not cool Waylan.

Taking pictures of real homes and trying to pass it off as a “dollhouse” is against forum rules.

(Just kidding! It’s amazing!!)

And of course, no project is ever complete without a clear instruction manual.

Incredible job! Kudos to you, sir.

Where did you find the kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, furniture, etc? (Never mind, I see that you already answered that in your opening post)

And my OCD is worried about one of the dolls falling down the stairs with no railing.

Ok. The centrally wired light fixtures look legit. Nice job!! The instructions are classic. You might want to add the no fighting section to them.

Seriously though, great attention to detail. Well done!

Woah :flushed:

This is SERIOUSLY impressive. Excellent work.

Side note, the photo of the bed with the red sheets could legitimately pass for a real full size room. So cool!

Oh my word. That is amazing! And I know that word has been used by several others, but I have to re-use it, because it just is. WOW.
