Disable makita safety feature?

hi,

I connected makita and dust collection power through relay but makita has this safety feature which does not allow it to start when you will plug it in with router switched on. I need to turn it off and on again to make it start.

Do you have any easy tricks?

Not that I know of, it’s one of the EU regulations that does make sense for routers (though bad for CNCs), but it has to be included in dust collection as well. Which is even more stupid.

it absolutely makes sense if you use it as a hand router…

you are correct about dust system! i had to jump through hoops just didn’t realize it was the same thing, but it definitely was! that one was easier, coz had physical button to hold with a band

I’m afraid the only way will be disassemble router :frowning: but if I do that I probably would like to implement router speed as well…

At that point buy a different trim router or spindle and use the one you have now as a handheld trim router.

good point, actually. thanks.

just looked on aliexpress and there are 500w spindles at very affordable prices. some of them even claim to be brushless?! anyone own one of these? how badly misdescribed are those?
