Had to rustle up a table to feed the masses.
This is 93 x 47. I can’t believe how accurate the lowrider is. Everything fit snug across the dimensions.

Very nice. I like it and it is a very unique design.
That thing is gorgeous. I really like the design.
Is the design available somewhere? It looks great.
What type of veneer is on the plywood?
i did the design in fusion 360.
i initially got the overlapping/diagonal leg idea from atfab but wanted to make something leaner and lightweight that drew attention to the joints and support mechanism. i feel when things are overbuilt the details are overlooked. the top ply is cherry with oil. cherry definitely has a dated vibe…but it goes with the house which was built in the fifties. everything has to exist in relation to each other!
i’ve done a couple of smaller versions of the table. below is a surfboard-like end table for our plants in the winter. a little white pigment mixed with stand oil (like linseed but less yellow) and turp.
happy to share the designs. pm me. the key is getting tight joints so if people don’t have fusion360 we’ll have to go back and forth with measurements a little which i am cool with.
How did you get the square mortises?
I’m guessing they are overcut. An 1/8" radius bit on a 3/4" mortise is barely noticeable.
correct
PM Sent! Would love to make that dining room table for the Mrs. I have a sheet of birch left that’s got this project written all over it.
