Dimensions check for aluminium plates

Hi guys, could I get a dimensions check for the aluminium plates? I sent the two files to a local CNC shop and they sent me measurements to confirm they are correct, but I get slightly different measurements when I open the files in Aspire by a few mm.

Attached are the measurements the CNC shop sent via message.

X: 104.952mm

Y: 148.481mm

W: 209.905mm

H: 164.847mm

If they are not correct, any idea why this could be?

Thanks

Good morning. Most people dont realize this, but it goes against the license for you to pay a shop to cut the plates for you. You should order them from Ryan or if you are International order them from @Tokoloshe. If both of those options are cost prohibitive then you need to reach out to @vicious1 and get permission to have a shop working for profit cut them.

Oh damn, I didn’t realise

Are there any shops in Asia region that sell or can cut w/ permission?

If not I’ll order from Ryan, it might be easier as I can order some other stuff like stepper wires - I have a question though, when I enter my address and get shipping prices in the shop, it also adds on extra costs for duties and taxes - does this mean I won’t be charged any duties to receive them by customs as they’re pre-paid?

Alu plates & stepper wires for example show:

Subtotal · 2 items

$31.14

Shipping

$31.19

Duties

$13.09

Taxes

$5.27

Total

USD**$80.69**

EDIT - I’ll go for them from Ryan and roll the dice, I’ll add just stepper wires so the package isn’t that big, hopefully nobody in customs get extorty.

You can order a complete kit that includes the plates and supports Ryan

It’s too risky to order anything large or expensive to Thailand unfortunately, even from China, customs are notorious for charging ridiculous duties and fees. They tried having me for $300+ on a $90 light cable set from AliExpress the other month. Ended up taking the loss rather than pay. I’ve managed to get a lot of small parts though.

That said, I think the plates might be ok, they’re quite small and flat so should be a relatively small package and if it’s inspected I doubt they’ll be hit with much as they’re just generic things rather than an obviously expensive item or electronics etc.

We’ll see anyway, I’ll report back for any future Thailand builders.

Send a message to @vicious1 or email at ryan@v1engineering.com and talk to him about your situation. It is possible he might give you permission to get them cut locally. But he is the only one that can give that permission.
