I’m close to starting my build, but one quick questions.
what is the depth of the collet on the Dewalt DW660?
in other words, how far into the collet does the bit go?
I dont know if this is correct but I leave the head out and that’s about it. Depends on the bit for me. But take that with a grain of salt.
It’s about 32 mm.
If I take this bit and stuff it all the way in, approximately 6mm is left sticking out.
And its overall length is abiut 38 mm
One real quick question. does the bit/mill need to be inserted all the way, or can you play around with that to gain the depth that is needed.
If you grip only a little of the shank then there is more risk of it coming out or slipping, but apart from that there is no hard limit.
