Der Froschkönig - Lowrider 3 in Oldenburg, Germany

Added the headband, sanded, oiled. So actually finished. Needs a stand and some glamour shots for its own topic.

Ash (Hair), Black Walnut (Eyes, Mouth, Pearls), Purple Heart (Headband), Red Heart (Warpaint), Maple (Teeth, Stone in Headband and Fur Coat).

Looks really nice! Did you think about using epoxi with different colors for the inlays?

Does not work because it is not food safe. I always shake my head in silent disapproval when I see a YouTube video where someone does that. :yum:

That is a stunner for sure. Such perfect inlays, congratulations on a job well done!

Ok, now I need to see some Totoro inlays!
Or a Porco Rosso charcuterie board :stuck_out_tongue:

There are supposed food safe resins available in the US. Is that not an option in Germany?

Even if they were: it’s not as resilient as end grain and would scratch too fast. There is really, in my opinion, nothing to be gained by doing it.

Well I would probably place this as a decoration and not actually use this type of cutting board because I wouldn’t want to mess it up. Really nice job by the way.

Haha, the only one who has used his board daily so far is my brother. He’s been using it for three years now and it still looks great. :slightly_smiling_face:
