Crimping Tool

I am getting ready to extend the axis limit switch wiring. I removed one of the crimps from the plug. Wow! I can’t believe what a perfect crimp. I want what ever tool was used to make such perfect crimps. Thanks in advance![attachment file=85103]

Search dupont crimp tool

I wish I knew. I hand crimped the first few hundred sets of wires. Never once did I get that nice of a crimp!

Dupont crimp tool and a set of +3 readers so you can see the damned things.

Makes sure you read the wire sizes… don’t want to talk about why I know that…

Dang, I must have the knock offs of those. Mine look almost the same…dang it, they do not crimp that nice.

^ what he said.

Proper tool for a proper job. Best thing I ever did was buy a proper ratcheting crimp tool. Get a good one with the removable jaws and then get the jaws for what ever you need.

I made the mistake of buying ones without the removable jaws. I now have 3 tools and it would have been less to buy the better one from the get go.

I made sure I bought the ones with the removable dies the first time. Then just bought a set of dies to be sure. The original tool was an Amazon purchase like the one shown above, I used Aliexpress for the die set.

I tried making those crimps without any proper tool. The wires are now directly soldered to the pins on the board ; )

Is this the sort a guy needs?

That doesn’t appear to have a small enough die for dupont connectors. You want a set for “0.1-1.0mm^2” wire and you should use the smallest opening.

This is the one I have: Amazon.com

Ugh. Same thing, four times the price on Amazon.ca. Sometimes being in Canada sucks…

0.14-1.5mm^2 ok?
