So I made my strut plates and took everything apart. Put on the struts. In the process of putting the sides back on and now my Z coupler looks like this (just this one, other one is still normal).
That’s what I was afraid of. Finally got everything done, crown, struts, etc. Still troubleshooting my endstops and need to clean up wire management but I was ready to finally play with the damn thing! Oh well, that Z had been giving me weird problems so maybe that was the cause all along and once I replace it that side will behave properly. Thanks for the reply. So far everyone has been super helpful - not sure I would have made it without the help
I also tried to use “spider style” couplers as they will just disassemble if you pull on it, but there was not quite enough flex, and the z motor was blocking near 0
So I ordered more of the couplers (5 for like $9 on Amazon I think) but in the mean time I tried to see how well things would work anyway. 1 - Still can’t home (endstops dont seem to work right). 2 - coupler broken?
3 - haven’t squared or leveled spoil board yet.
4 - took an svg I had from wife’s Cricket Maker 3 and quickly ran it thru Estlcam anyway
The defects inside the letters and the star are 99% my fault - trying to clear space with a 1/8” endmill when I just don’t think there’s room. Not too bad for a first test with a barely half set-up LR3. I love this thing and the support from the community
While you wait for your new couples to arrive hopefully you can get your endstops working. What’s going on with them?? Which board are you running? Can you get to terminal and see what M119 says? That will report back status of your endstops. Any endstop showing triggered that’s not actually triggered has a wiring issue. They should be wired normally closed and to the signal and ground pins on the board.
