Hello,
I’ve installed Estlcam 12,109A on my computer, and I’m eager to not only generate G-code for my MPCNC, which is controlled by RAMPS, but also to manage the machine directly. I’m really excited about the idea of using a joystick (like the Xbox 360) for control, as it seems like the simplest option.
However, when I open the Estlcam CNC controller and connect the machine using the “program controlled” button, the Arduino emits a high-pitched whistle and loses its firmware, requiring me to reflash it!
Could this be due to a misconfiguration? I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.
Thanks!
Okay, I read it in bed this morning, I thought you wanted to program a Uno… So scratch that comment above.
First, the ending of your file extensions should be “nc”. That does not change anything about your problem though.
Regarding the Mega you need to select the USB port it is connected to, then just press “program controller”. That should do it. If it doesn’t, something else is afoot.
The Estlcam Controller software only works with Estlcam firmware, not w/ …Marlin, GRBL, etc. firmware. Only the Estlcam (default or tool changer) presets, in Setup : Basic and Post Processor, are for Estlcam firmware. All the other presets are for using Estlcam CAM software to generate G-code that is compatible with …Marlin, GRBL, etc. firmware.
…Is the Estlcam pinout/wiring (in the Controller setup image) for the Mega different than the RAMPS pinout/wiring?
