Chopped Carbon Fiber Filled Nylon Build

Just started printing out the parts to my first MPCNC build. Decided to go with chopped carbon fiber filled nylon due to its added strength and rigidity. I’m using Markforged Onyx material for all components. Probably overkill for some parts, but I have access to the material and several Markforged desktop printers. Should have all the parts printed by early next week. I’ll post back here with updates of the build.

Thanks for the incredible design Ryan!

Sounds cool!

I’d love to see pics of the printed parts!

Ditto!

Nice! I ran the XYZ pieces on a Mark Two in Onyx and loaded up with fiber strands, haven’t gotten around to installing them yet though…

How did this work is it worth the extra cost?

Those Markforged printers start at around $4K USD (new), so for most people, it’s not going to be worth it. That said, I’m pretty interested in seeing how this comes out.

Yeah but I wanted to know about the filament but posts on one date a year ago betting the employer ir university shot it down

I have to hand it to Ryan though it’s hard to show post that are written in the future like that🤯
