Cheap red PLA is actually orange --> LR4

Mine is a 1450mm beam. Not heavy at all when i hit the button for Z+. I try to not move mine around manually. Have too many burnt boards from that in the past lol

Umm, if you do that, don’t you run the risk of possibly stretching and damaging the spring couplers (or at least I thought that was the case on the LR3, I’m guessing that the LR4 is the same). I lift mine by grabbing the gantry rails and lifting there - much less weight on the couplers. But maybe I’m off base here…

That reads wrong… I don’t mean lift it like a handle to carry, I mean twist slowly to raise the gantry. That way I can make noises as it moves.

Yeah I knew what you meant. I was just saying why not move it with the controller instead of manually moving it? then you don’t have to lose Z height just to have the knobs on top.

I lubed the z screws and now whenever the motors are off, it just drops.

I made a power button holder. thought it turned out ok… but it may not be for everyone.

not bad for a few minutes with tinkercad… (not my day job and not pretty on the inside, but it holds the V1 emergency stop mushroom and has a hole in the back for the wires to escape.

also made a z home switch offset for use with the z axis knobs

(they print in 4 minutes)

and it drew the crown and went to its new home…
