Let me see…. mmmmh….
At 0.15€/kW that’s not bad….
I still have to change provider to bring the cost down further though….
So here it is fluctuating DAILY, my problem is the spread between 87 to 92. I see others still at 20 cent per 87 to 89 to 92, we are at 60, why is that???
This morning, I saw 3.75 where I work, home (only 15 miles away) is 3.99. I have a full sized Silverado. so if i were empty 4 bucks would be 80 dollars!
87 3.75
89 4.35
92 4.95
Don’t know if the explanation is the same in the US, but here in Europe, price difference are officially justified by the date/time when the reseller bought it’s stock
It makes sense, although I can’t totally believe it’s the only reason… ![]()
It used to be, now when one Gas Station goes up, they ALL go up, whether they buy that day or not!
I filled up about a week and a half ago for $35. My Subaru gets around 30 mpg and I work from home so I still have about 2/3 of a tank. Regular gas is $4.20/gallon here in northeast Pennsylvania.
$46. Honda Accord 12 gal ~3.79/gal
$50.00 on the nose from the warning light being on for half my daily commute to the pump shutting itself off.
I’m considering lobbying my supervisor to cut down from 3 days a week in the office to 1 or 2 for the duration of the current situation.
Eww. When I did work in an office, it was only 11 miles each way so it still wasn’t bad.
Breaking news for Canadians, minutes ago, Prime Minister Carney announced that the government will be suspending collection of the federal fuel excise tax effective from April 20th to Labour Day. That amounts to about 10 cents a litre for gasoline and 4 cents a litre for diesel.
Typically, fuel prices here normally go up 10-15 cents per litre mid-April as the supply changes over from winter blend fuels to summer blend fuels. So, in practical terms, this tax break just means we won’t see as much of a spring time increase as we would have otherwise expected.
If I were to go fill up right now… it would be about $250…
Diesel is $5.20-ish right now and I’m about 48 gallons away from full.
but I’ve only been putting in about a weeks worth of driving at a time hoping the prices normalize a bit more soon
Cali, $5.99 /gallon, 35 gallon tank, pump shuts off at $150 tank is not full. ![]()
750 miles for $56 over the weekend through Indiana and Kentucky to go rock climbing. 1.3 hours divided between three charging stops throughout the trip.
I don’t have any idea what this represents in standard unit system so I just ran the conversion and…
Holy m….. !!! 130liters???!!! ![]()
Average car here has between 30-45L, sedans/family cars will go up to 50-60Liters (15 gallons)
not that uncommon here for trucks and SUVs to be close to that range…
Mine is closer to 50 gallons(~190 liters) but that’s probably about the biggest factory provided tank on a consumer vehicle.
I’ll be filling up my F-150 probably tomorrow ahead of taking parts to RMRRF, will be about 20 gallons at about $4.00 / gallon.
Worst I’ve ever had was filling up the houseboat at Lake Powell. 500 gallons at $6.00/gallon. Filled up 3-4 times a trip, unless there were a lot of ski boats, in which case it would be more. Boats are giant holes in the water that you pour money into.
It’s always best to go with a well known, quality manufacturer, as it reduces the odds of injury, and the obvious issues of fit, finish, and comfort. Wait… oh… that kind of pump, and that kind of pain… never mind.
Worst pump pain I’ve ever had (in the context of this thread) was back in the early 2000’s, during the initial Gulf Wars, filling up our Expedition. Nearly $100 to fill the tank. And I also remember the even/odd gas days in the 70’s during the OPEC oil embargo, and our first kerfuffle with the theological Iranian regime (that I recall).
Anyone who predicted/orchestrated picking up lots of oil in Dec or Jan sure did well…
I didn’t. Personally disappointed oil prices at the pump are jacked up so high considering cost for domestic extraction hasn’t gone up. Feels like regular north+south america people at the pump are being opportunistically squeezed. Guessing north+south america oil execs will have nice bonuses this quarter, at your expense ![]()
Not filled tank for 2yrs since daily drivers are EVs. Wish we had solar + wind + geothermal to be more energy independent.
Concerned about downstream impact of high oil prices. Like cost of fertilizer, food and everyday stuff. The energy it takes to get a tomato to grow from a seed, to fully grown and transported to your mouth is crazy. https://www.amazon.com/How-World-Really-Works-Science/dp/0593297067
CNC cut vertical wind generator project would be neat.
There’s a couple of problems with that. First, US refineries are set up to process the heavy crude form other sources, not the light sweet crude we get here. So, we can’t just suddenly process our own oil in our own refineries.
Second, the oil companies would rather sell wherever the prices are highest, so supply follows not just demand but also profit opportunities.
Wow… our tank has 11 gallons… You Americans and your gas guzzlers… ![]()
