My grandfather’s thread gauge, but I keep it for sentimental reasons.

3d printed bicycle crank removal tool.
LOL, I use a thread pitch gauge several times a year, often to determine metric vs. imperial, also when using a tap to clean dinged threads
I could use one for leadscrews around here…
Anyway, on the subject of the topic…
The most useless tool in my kit is me
My nickname isn’t the same as industry slang for spanner for nothing. Don’t do much laying around though.
Real answer. Makita cordless vacuum. They were never brilliant to begin with, but the latest model has a microscopic bag that just totally defeats it. ![]()
My Makita LS1219L didn’t get any use. Or like, once a year. The table saw does everything better, so it had to go (so yes, it’s not “tool I have” but “had”). I do not have useless tools any more. ![]()
Where the heck did you find a double bevel table saw ![]()

Can’t you adjust the blade angle and the angle on the miter gauge to do a double bevel on a table saw?
I think the miter saw does it easier. Especially on long wood.
Probably, but a) I have a huge table saw with a sled now and b) how often do you need double bevels?
Agree with miter saw. Great for framing and trim work. Not much utility in a small shop that has a decent table saw.
My bandsaw… I never really used it much as I have mitre saw and a nifty little dewalt site table saw. Now that my 8x4 LR is finished I have even less need for it and more need for the space. I sold it last month…
I currently have a non-sliding miter saw (10”), and I recently was thinking about getting a 12” slider. No real reason, my typical path of upgrading stuff is finding a friend who’s getting into the hobby and giving them a killer deal on my gear while treating myself to an upgrade.. it helps me feel a little more ethical spending money on something I don’t need
anyways, I went to the store and saw how much bigger those sliding saws are! The footprint has to be twice the size of my plain Jane miter saw lol noped out of that real quick!
On topic response: I have a “nice” Craftsman hand saw my grandpa gave me, I say nice in quotes because it is brand new and by all accounts is a nice saw! But omg it’s so much harder to use/worse performance than a pull saw. The use case for this thing would be sawing a tree branch or something, which I would simply use a power tool to do instead of spending all my time and energy manually sawing lol. I’m gonna keep it forever because of the sentimental value and it’s a brand new saw, but I’m also never going to use the thing
. Otherwise I did a massive purge of stuff I never used a couple years back, it’s hard letting go but it’s harder justifying a bunch of crap sitting around getting in the way lol.
I wish I found that (very correct) line of reasoning easy to follow through on!
