Common sense… 
Financial understanding. Comprehending debt at a young age is difficult. Understanding that you need to save for retirement and the value of compounding interest. Understanding stocks and bonds and mutual funds and to not do stupid things.
Other than general math, all I remember learning in school was how to write checks and balance a checkbook. I very rarely use checks.
I am pretty sure you are the only country that does. I’ve never seen a check in my life in all of Europe. 
I absolutely agree with you on the financial understanding thing. In the EU credit cards aren’t really common, only a few people had them and the credit cards we have nowadays are basically debit cards, the money gets deducted from your account instantly. So it’s a bit harder to have debt without knowing you have it and to juggle debt from four credit cards etc. It’s still really important to teach financial responsibility as well. My kids are now buying those stupid dumplings. But hey, it’s their money…
Are you saying I should introduce my kids to OnlyFans when they turn 18?.. 
Seriously though, that also fits the “make a good first impression” bill and is much more general and so much better said. 
- Environmental awareness.
- How to handle strong emotions responsibly.
Self awareness that our 100,000 yr old bio firmware is pretty much hardwired for tribalism/survival, “fear of the other”, and, cunning “leaders” we meet throughout our short lives (cosmically speaking) will try to leverage/exploit this to divide and distract us.
Active listening, so empathy, and compassion enable 3rd way win^N to occur.
Some balance of resilience, drive, grit/determination, focus, while not diminishing compassion.
Keep adapting/learning…

I don’t appreciate the judgey tone. Plenty of generative AI developers have OnlyFans accounts (or so I’ve been told 
). Have you seen the tech job market lately?
The 5S system. Sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain. Still working on it but only by seeing it at work did I really start applying it at home and its been helpful.
But what about the Safety afterthought? 
Safety third!!!
The proper level of safety can be learned through experience (hopefully only close calls). You can go through all of life in agony without proper organization.
One’s self awareness, can’t really be taught, but always been a firm believer of “you can’t fix what you don’t acknowledge is a problem”. If you can master this, you can actually move forward with self improvement on anything you work towards
How to ask for help. There’s too much emphasis on self-reliance these days. The other side of the coin is how to give without it being transactional, or at least not being a zero sum game to be “won”.
Asking for help is not a weakness, and should not be treated as such.
Speaking of which, anyone need a mildly grumpy old man for a remote developer position? 
We’ve got AI now that isn’t grumpy but deletes the data if it wants to! It also rambles incoherently sometimes…
