Got tired of the hold down getting in the way of the gantry and router. Made these to secure everything laterally while remaining at a height of less than 1/2" (if you use the knob without the grip). i secure mine with a (1") 1/4-20 bolt and T nuts on the bottom of my spoil board

Nice design, is that a dovetail on the slide?
Yes, put the dovetail on there so that the clamp presses against the material without shifting the piece up
