Hello everyone,
I am still new here and trying to understand which machine would be better for my use case. I have read about both MPCNC and LowRider CNC, but I am a bit confused.
My main interests are wood cutting and light engraving, and I do not need very high production speed. Space is somewhat limited.
Based on your experience, which machine would you recommend for a beginner and why? Any advice would be very helpful.
The LR4. Much more rigid in every configuration, easier to load. I’ve had the Primo, LR3 and LR4, in my opinion the LR4 plays on a different league.
There’s a reason the Primo kits are discontinued.
I don’t know if this is enough information to give you a well-informed recommendation.
What type of woodcutting? Sheet goods, or carving thicker wood? Is there any chance you’ll do foam or other type of cutting where you may need longer end mills in addition to thicker stock. Are you thinking 3/4” plywood or small craft wood for Etsy items? Will you need to resurface a project after pouring resin?
For most uses, I think my default answer would be a Lowrider, even if you make it a smaller footprint. But there may be uses where the MPCNC could still make sense.
