Bauer 12 gallon dust extractor

so i just watched wood mag youtube about their new joiner, (nice bte), and went to see what else they had!

This dust extactor is cool! you plug your tool into it, then when the tool turns on your dust extractor starts! no switch necessary!

I’ve had one for a few months now and it’s the shit! Crazy powerful suction, I have to turn it down sometimes lol last time I cleaned it out I pulled out a couple sharpies, an endmill still in the plastic case, all kids of stuff just flies across the table into it haha

The long hose and power cord are amazing too, makes it super easy to clean your vehicle interiors! Oh man and the floor cleaning attachment (it comes with everything), one pass and the floor is spotless! It’s not quite as loud as a regular vacuum, but still plenty loud.

The one caveat to mention is that the 12 gallon capacity is only valid in wet mode when you remove the HEPA filters, otherwise the dual filters take up most of the volume. Which isn’t a problem for dust, it still holds plenty of it (and I use a bucket with cyclone separation for the CNC), it’s just that if you want to also use those filter bags like the one it comes with, there’s like 0 room for the bags to expand so you’ll be using like 1/3 of each bags capacity. I tried to be good and use the bags, but they eventually rip open and defeat the whole purpose lol. This is not a problem for the vacuum though, it does self cleaning cycles and even with the cleaning turned off (it’s got a button for it), it can breathe right through the dust like it’s nothing!

So yeah, no harm no foul, but wanted to share in case anyone else has angst about the filters taking up all the room lol.

Also since I’m a Harbor Freight shill (they actually have good benefits for their employees and give them real schedules unlike other retail stores that use and abuse their people), I wanted to add that their Hercules line does not mess around. It’s meant to compete with the likes of Makita, Bosch, and DeWalt, for example the Hercules 5aH tool batteries use Japanese made cells (my Honda Insight is rocking a 20 year old Panasonic hybrid battery that’s still going strong lol).
