The customer that bought the DM screen was so happy with it that he commissioned the next piece already: a Battle Map for DnD.
I was like, sure, let me knock this out real quick. And compared to the DM screen, it was real quick. The map is made from oak and finished with linseed oil.

The monitor is fixed to the back plate via the VESA mount (and supported with two small blocks on the top edges), it’s basically free floating inside the case so that it is not under tension and any shocks to the case won’t break it. You can also see the holes for the air and in the bottom left the hole for the controls.
The sides have two respectively six magnets embedded (see pictures below for spots). I made holes on the opposite site, so that the magnets are 2mm below the wood’s surface, so they are invisible. They are pretty strong, so you can snap other dice trays etc. to it without them movong around while playing.
Pretty happy again with how it turned out.
