Bart is closing his Tindie store

Hey, folks…

If you have a project that you were planning to do with one of Bart’s boards from Tindie, you should order it now.

I will probably be closing my Tindie shop soon. With the recently announced tariffs (54%) it just does not make business sense anymore. Buying locally not is going to be any cheaper. There are not too many places that have a good price for low volume orders. It is not like all of this money goes to China. For each $1 of profit that goes to a PCB house. A business like mine can make $3-$6. That is not the markup it is just a reasonable guess at the actual profits each side makes. I will probably keep the Elecrow store open. They do most of the international sales now and that is less affected. US buyers will still get hit with the 54%. I hope that the US does not trigger a world wide tariff war. I will keep the Tindie store open while I still have stock. I’ll see how things go during that time. This will also likely affect future development. I get my prototype hardware build from JLCPCB (China).

Him transitioning to Elecrow only is probably going to keep prices the same for the end user at the expense of needing to flash it yourself like I have it.

This is a big development and I am sure there are many more announcements like this to come.

The worst part bart is only talking about the previous # now there’s a major tariff applied to the china stuff.

I can’t say anything nice about tariffs, so I won’t say anything at all.

I like Bart though and having him sell stuff directly in the US is great. He once told me he only makes the boards so fluidnc (grbl_esp at the time) would have a market. So much respect. But that is obviously a fragile position to be in.

Everything feels so grave right now. I think about how many like him and Ryan are affected by all this and it really sickens me!

And i am sure one of my favorite browsing stores (harbor freight) will be sucked in
