Closed system directly tied in to the Chinese state.
That’s why you need to rethink personal. It’s not yours any more, it’s ours.
I won’t be buying one because I’m happy with my P1S and I think it’s going to be a bit expensive. I’m still interested to see more details though, including the new AMS.
I’m not worried about the chinese government stealing my gcode. Not everything has to be open source or semi-openish like Prusa. I just want a printer that works well and I don’t have to mess with it.
I don’t plan on upgrading my printer anytime soon. But when I do I think the dual extruder design is really interesting for doing multi-material stuff. It seems simpler and more reliable than tool changer or idex designs.
Have you done any mods and/or updates on the P1S?
Nope, it’s 100% stock with the AMS.
Well, it’s sounding impressive if the leaks are accurate. This is going to be expensive.
Two new AMSs, both with heated drying. One to 65 C and a high temp version to 85 C.
I can imagine that I’ll get a new AMS.
The H2D looks pretty sweet. What do you think?
I like that everything seems to be integrated well. Nothing in it seems to be groundbreaking but they packaged all the current knowledge and past innovations into one package. The cost took a pretty solid step up though.
It looks pretty cool. The price is a little cheaper than I expected but still not buying one. Not sure how I feel about putting a laser in there. I am curious about what they’ve done on the software side.
I am interested in adding the AMS HT to my existing P1S with AMS assuming I can use it kind of like a standalone filament dryer as well.
Wondering what the drag knife and laser system will do for the hobby:
Ik thinking more accessible software for new makers which will trickle down to hobbyist like it did for 3d printing.
Also maybe the drag knife and laser module kan be mounted on the MPCNC??
3500 with laser… phew and no thanks.
You can just use a 10€ drag knife and it works like a charm.
Looks like a neat addition to their product line.
Like that they have a Basic package, but offer upgrades/Pro version, providing paths for people to optionally expand what they can Make over time.
Look forward to seeing competitors’ response. We Customers win as companies compete.
Do people here trust that the green acrylic/polycarbonate is enough protection for the 10W/40W laser module? Where would you buy such laser safety panels, or vinyl wrap for existing polycarbonate panels?
https://bambulab.com/en-us/h2d says…
But… AI says https://chatgpt.com/share/67e2f874-0a80-800b-b675-251f4e5d296b laser safety panels for that wavelength should be amber/red. Maybe they have a special coating or the laser module is diff wavelength ?
These protections are a notch filter. They only let through one color. As long as the color isn’t the laser, then it is safe.
But you can’t tell anything from looking at them. They may be a good notch filter kmor they may be a terrible filter. You need to use a source and sensor in the wavelength of the laser to know how much it attenuates the lasers power. This is why you should only buy laser safety from reputable companies.
