Those power supplies are good, but this is a very small load for them. Some of them get confused and think they should shut down.
I have heard of this happening, but haven’t seen it. I used on for a printer for more than a year and it was fine.
Good idea, lots of space for fans and other electronics. It appears that you do have a 20 watt load resistor
load on one of the supply lines. I play it safe and put a load on each of the lines. 1/2 amp on each keeps the regulators running clean.
I’ve got a 10ohm10watt on the 5 volt rail. I have one more, you think i should put it on the 12v rail also?
yes, but you will need 2 10 ohm resistors in series to handle the wattage, or higher wattage resistor.
For the most part I found that just the 5 volt was enough. But once in a while I would have noise on the 12v. Putting on a small load settled everything down. My lcd display was more stable.
Looks good. I’ve used computer cases for other projects, but not my mpcnc.
