Arduino uno+5 stepper drivers+estlcam

Hi All, new to the hobby. I have been given a mpcnc that needs to be wired
I have:
5 stepper drivers TB6600
Arduino uno with maplin firmware
5 Nema 17 motors
I want to use Estlcam software

Could anyone give me a diagramme on how to wire it up, please. I have searched but there seems to be a few ways and then the software gives another option.
Any help would be appreciated
Many thanks
Mike

Anyone?
I have seen a common anode connection and cathode connections. Then when you set up the estlcam software it gives you a list of connections of input and outputs but which one to use?

This one is my problem. I am also using TB6600 but with a different board.

I am assuming you mean Marlin Firmware here.

Are you wanting to just use Estlcam as CAM software or also use it as CNC Control software? If the latter then @Tokoloshe is your man. 99% of us here don’t run that as firmware. But Phillipp has nothing but great things to say about it.

But not on a Uno with Marlin. :yum:

Maybe this helps?

Well if he is wanting to run Estlcam then the marlin will get replaced with estlcam firmware :yum:

Now with the Uno Idk. He might need a different board. that is all above my paygrade lol

It does (or at least did) work with a Uno before. I run a Mega though.

Thanks all for your input, I wired it as
estlcam instucted, dir-&pul- to ground and dir+ to a2, pul+ to A0
but nothing moves and the stepper motor is resticted to move

I didn’t think the UNO had enough pins and memory resources to run 5 independent drivers.

Hi, The machine came with them, and came with an amount of sawdust so I guess it was working at one point!

This is what I have

Looking at the second link it appears you parallel the X and Y motors - so no endstop squaring. Although there don’t appear to be any endstops anyway.

That isn’t what your picture shows

Yeah, second that, you got ground to +. You also usually do not connect ENA.

Stupid question: did you connect the power to the board and stepper drivers?

Those settings above were after this picture. this was how the uno came.

I Believe that is called the common cathode connection(active high)

I don’t want to rain on your parade. But that conteoller combo is not going to work with Marlin. You could potentially make it work for grbl, but you’d have to find the details on your own. If you want more help from the v1 community, using a jackpot or skr pro is going to be much less work.

Thanks for the input and I understand what you are saying but what I do not understand is that the machine has worked with what is there. Also in the vi documentation it does give details on setting up Estlcam with the arduino uno with marlin all be it vague. What do the community suggest is the best board to use? Thanks

Where?

The jackpot with TMC drivers is the current best choice.

Estlcam used to work with it, but it’s been a while.

Thanks for recommending the jackpot. I searched and it came up with a page on setting up estlcam with the arduino uno. Think it was on an earlier version of it.
