Anyone make a spindle mount in aluminum?

I just posted about my weird aluminum spindle mount clamp, because I thought it deserved its own thread. It seems that even with a stock build, aluminum milling is workable. Just a bit slow…

My first aluminum part!

I decided to challenge myself to make an spindle mount clamp out of only 6mm aluminum. This was a funky idea and thought it would be fun to try it out. The finished part is so good it’s demonstrating to me that I don’t actually need an aluminum spindle mount (I currently have the spindle mount printed in carbon fiber PETG)!
