Y’all are a handy bunch. Anyone made a soapbox car, either with or without your CNC?
I’m looking for ideas, inspiration (detailed instructions?).
I was thinking of a box steel frame and wooden carapace (like a canoe skin with ribs) but I’m not clear on good ways to attach the wheels, brakes and steering.
All pictures and advice gratefully received.
I have made a few different things that rolled like that but never specifically a soapbox.
If it were me I would make the first few iterations out of wood. Stearing and brakes are harder to get right than the actual frame. That lets you try a few configs quick and easy.
I know this does not help, but I once had a student who did it “professionally” in a league. I can see whether I can find her online…
