Had some time on my hands due to thanksgiving holiday. So made a few test projects out of scrap pine. Came out better than expected

They look great. If you use Estlcam, try to use the parallel clearing for the pocket, then you have some circles in the middle, which look, in my opinion, a lot better than the lines (if you like the lines, ignore this advise :P).
I agree with using parallel clearing and normally use it for that reason. Being a test project using scrap wood, I wasn’t going crazy. The top carve is another oops. Normally I run the finish pass with the grain as it hides slight lines better.
