Alarm 4 on first Z probe for 0

I’m calibrating my build now and attempted my first g38.2 command to probe for Z0.

I received an Alarm 4, probe not in expected initial state error.

I assume this means the controller thinks the probe circuit is closed.

Jackpot controller. lowrider 4. I bought the kit, printed parts, and controller from the v1e store.

-I have the magnet for ground on the router collet and the probe resting on the plywood spoilboard.

  • I tested both ground and probe lines for continuity.
  • G side of the controller pin is connected to the magnet, and S side is connected to probe.
  • I have the connector in the last set of pins on the board (GPIO.36)

With the circuit closed by touching the probe to the collet the led next to the pin is fully lit (it matches the other LEDS), when pulling the probe away the led becomes dimmer, but still on. Is this related to my problem somehow?

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

Thank you!

Noah

Use $Limits to sort out your probe circuit.

Edit: also, flip the connector on the jackpot for your probe.

Couldn’t get the probe circuit to deactivate on gpio.36. I finally switched it to gpio.39 and now it works.
