I would like to have your opinion on best practices on making curved ramps like in the pictures.
Is it better to use a flat end mill and finish with a ball nose like this:
Or should I use a ball end from the beginning?
Thank you

Ball end mill would be my go-to
They can cut almost as good as a straight bit for pocketing and still give great results for ramps
You can probably cut off machining time by using the “right” diameter lollipop or bowl bit, matching the curve radius
You’d need to hog out most of the material witha straight bit beforehand though
That’s the strategy I used for my door handles here
Those pointy ends will probably force you to use a thin ball end mill anyway
