Thank you!

With patience, a steady hand and a thin brush. It’s simple acrylic paint.
Then the surface was sanded to remove any excess paint.

Thanks I mentioned I used Frisket a very thin sticky film but I was mistaken. I realized it only for airbrushing after tracing the desired art. Tried on my CNC and it just tore up. I think the secret is a sanding sealer on the top to stop the bleeding and then as you said careful hand.

I have used contact paper before on items where we wanted both the outside and the carve/cut painted but in 2 different colors. It works well just make sure to use a tack rag or something on the wood before you put the contact paper on.
