Hi everyone, this is my first post. I'm planning out a lowrider2 build. I can get a cheap pair of roller skates from second hand store cheaper than I can buy 60mm wheels online. But the skates have 74mm or 80mm wheels. Would 80mm wheels work without a problem? Would there be any code changes? I could edit the side template and offset the holes 10mm higher. But is that even necessary and would that work if it is necessary?
60mm are usually goalie wheels. Also, worn down wheels will easily lose enough to be closer to 60mm. When I bought mine, Ryan was the cheapest I could find. I think the trouble is many online wheel sellers think I care about quality or durability for skating… Did you look for something like ebay or ali express?
As for original question. There is nothing in the firmware that needs to change. You rail or table thickness will need to be that 10mm smaller. I know Ryan has been asked this before, but I can’t remember what he said about the 80mm wheels. I also remember the regular roller hockey spacers not being the right size for a 5/16" bolt.
I think you will be okay, most routers have some extra length, worse case you will need a thicker spoil board. Best to find 59-60mm wheels though.
