6-32 nut pocket geometry

I’m working on a model that I want to include a pocket for 6-32 nut.
I tried google searches but have not come up with anything, and I really don’t want to deal with printing multiple test prints if there is something already existing.

wondering if someone knows where I can find one?
I can even extrapolate it from another 3D printed model.
do any of the V1 models have one? I can’t remember.

You will need to print some tests to see how your printer does with small dims.

I would do 0.2mm over the width and do a 2% taper out from the bottom so it wedges in well.

So I think 7.92mm flat to flat on the hex, the 2% taper doesn’t seem like much, but it does seem to help you can go a few percent more if you want a looser fit.

Guess my …hardware… is a bit smaller. I actually used calipers. Maybe try 7.95 or 7.96 to be good with the standard.

Thanks guys. I will get something modeled up and do some test prints.

There are a bunch of #6-32 nut pockets in the LR2 models. Notably in the Z axis clamps.

I cheat and use 8mm wrench size pockets, with a small taper. The 5/16" nominal is a bit smaller, but it’s never caused me ay grief, and then it doesn’t matter if I use 5mm screws instead of #6-32.
