Hallo
Danke Martin
Hello my MPCNC is ready and milling day and night. Now I want to go one step further and engrave different objects with a laser. That’s when I came up with the question of what the relatively cheap China lasers are capable of. Specifically, I thought of this here. My question is, if one can engrave with the laser also aluminum, V2A and glass. If yes, how good is
thanks Martin
You can “etch” anodized aluminum but not plain, I do not believe you will be able to do glass at least not without some sort of coating.

how high is the power of the laser in this video? i have found laser engraver from 0,5w to 15w.
Thank you

Info in the description and on the laser page as to why diode power is not exactly what you think it is (spot size).

i dont know how high the power is… maybe 2.5w. i´ve found some Videos on YouTube were you can see People etching or !!cutting!! glass with such China laser engravers.
Video 1
Video 2
Video 3
But i want to know, how effective These lasers on glass are. My idea is why people do not engrave with an MPCNC and such a china laser glass if it works according to the Videos. That is the reason why I´ve asked this question on this forum. I want to find someone, who have one of these laser engravers. He could tell me his experiences with it.
Best regards
Martin

Here is some etching, still doubt the cutting part, but maybe.

Thank you Ryan.
I dont want to cut glass, i only want to etch it. If i look at this 5.6W Laser i found a list for what you can use it. They say that it is possible to engrave glass and natural Stone. But i dont want to spend 400$ for the Laser. I wonder if the cheap china replica does the same, and if not, how much worse is the result
Thank you
Martin

With the link I just posted he is using a 3W laser, same as the first post of mine with the aluminum etching. As I said, higher powered diode based laser usually just means larger spot size so more power is not always better.
