3D printer size Lowrider V3

Hello all!

I was wondering is anyone could tell me the minium size for a square bed 3D printer and/or circular bed delta printer needed to print all the Lowrider V3 parts, including the XZ plate  maybe I’m blind and it’s somewhere on the website, but I could only find the information for the MPCNC…

Hello @Pepijn, welcome!

I don’t have a precise answer for you, guessing someone else will? Was curious and just played around with the YZ.stl in Cura, I couldn’t figure out a way to print on a common 220x220 bed without having to stand the print upright (sacrificing strength, and not recommended, see @jeffeb3’s response below). Have seen people some how manage to print the LR3 Core on a small but mighty Prusa Mini. Seen several folks cut the plates by hand using templates printed on paper. Having a CNC already, or a friend with a CNC would be helpful…

From what I know, everything except the YZ plate should be printable on a standard 220x220 bed. The YZ plates are too big to fit though but the XZ plates will. I have a Creality CR-10 V2 and the YZ plate fits just fine on it, but it’s a much larger 3d printer.

I don’t know the answer either. You can download and use (for free) prusa slicer. You can get the LR3 files from printables and try them. Don’t rotate any of them (at least leave the side that is already down), the side that is down is that way on purpose. You don’t need any supports. It will tell you the size of each part, or you can just try a couple of different printer presets.

The plates are big. But the core is the biggest piece that has to be printed. The plates can be cut from flat stock.

Thanks everyone for your (very detailed) responses! Makes me feel welcomed  I’ll download the files in the future and see what is the minium needed size, I’ll post the results here so in the future people can find it in this thread!
