So my printers with Klipper, and other upgrades can now print better/faster. I now need to upgrade cooling. Anyone in here, have a favorite fan duct?
I have an ender 3 pro and a longer (that has a complete ender micro swiss direct drive, so basically and ender.)
I have been looking at hero me gen 7, the parts are open source, but he charges for Documentation. Printables says 3 bucks, but go to his website and it is 5 bucks.
i see satsana, voron, etc. Just not sure which to go with. I got regular pla at MRRF and it is curling up do to my speed and my cooling being sub par (still factory cooling.)
I know the 24V fans I have here for my next build push a whole lot more air than any 12V fan I have used. Other than that I have seen two fans, or that cross bed fan system.
The way I solve it is make sure my minimum layer time is dialed in, and always try to print more things at once to keep that minimum layer time up. I think mine is set to 12 seconds, maybe 20…off the top of my head.
PLA is the most sensitive as far as I know other filament should not need as much cooling.
That is what I am finding. I may have to buy the hero me instructions and go for it. They use the 5015 or the 4020. My fans are already 24 v, that I am aware of. Away on business right now.
Thanks Ryan.
Yeah, I saw those, but decided not to… hmmm… I don’t know the proper term. Maybe @Tokoloshe knows a good word for it. Anyway, no need to ____-shame anyone for using a particular high-performance item alongside any number of… lesser-performance items that may mitigate the benefits of aforesaid premium item.
So i am going old school with satsana. Hero me creator removed all pdfs from all gens and the pieces i printed were wrong. On top of it all. I found my problems. A) did not do save_config after re mapping bed, b) i put a chinese bi metal heatbreak on. Wont do that again, my heat sink was so hot i could not touch it. And of course it locked itself into my heat block. Printer is back stock and printing again. Learning processes!!
I tried the fan ducts last night, it was very wobbly. I found the satsana for my microswiss that someone modified to have a 5015 fan. I am trying it right now.
