This is an interesting little project. I am not sure how long it would hold up. Maybe something to incorporate into your LR.

Swap out the motor for a stepper and toothed belt and it could work. You going to give it a shot??

This brings back memory’s of my first lathe. Made it using a treadle sewing machine. Later REA power made it to our area so I got to ‘upgrade’ to a electric sewing motor. How the world has changed,yet simple things are still inspire us. Love it.
