You are probably aware of this, but 1/4" EVA foam is really common at craft stores and would avoid having to glue up the layers. Probably too thick for your use here, but I also laser cut EVA floor pads (10mm) for this kind of stuff.

And if/when I need anything thicker, I have my eyes on EVA kneeling pads. Since all other EVA foams cut like butter, I assume I can find laser settings to cut through 36mm of foam.

Yep, I bought this batch of thinner EVA foam to make the bristles for the floating Z dust shoe, and then just started thinking of ways to use what all was left!

Two 1/4" layers, or one 10mm or 12mm layer, would have been about perfect for this.
