1.25 inch DOM with 32mm Braces

I want to use 1.25 inch dom for my 4x8 LR4 to make the gantry perfectly straight. I have not been able to get it flat so my gantry seems to sag in the middle. I have heard that the dom tube is very straight and more ridgid which always helps.

Would it be ok to use it with the 32mm braces? I think it should be fine where i can tighten the braces down but i wanted to be sure before starting down the path.

Your’s sags in the middle? Is the X axis the long one (96")? I have a 48" X axis with no sag. I have heard some insert a wooden dowel in the middle that can help stiffen it up. I’ve not tried that though.

I would think the 32mm braces would work just fine.

x is the 48 inch one. Not sure if its sag or just imperfect emt.

The strut plates should correct any issues you are seeing. If you have not cut them yet, they will fix it.

It must be sag then. I have a 1.5kw spindle on it. Would the 32mm braces be ok with 1.25 seamless tube?

That is what I have on my LowRider4 1-1/4 DOM .095 wall thickness and use the 32mm brace

Im assuming it works great? Thanks

How are you measuring the sag?

Do you have your strut plates in place?
