Z Touch Plate on Mini Rambo

Ok thx.
I tried it out. M119 show me z-min: triggered, if the plate is touching. So that work fine.
But im not able to do the z home test.
What i did. I zerroed Z, then I rised the z hight to 100mm. Then I drop the high an in this process touch the plate. Nothing happend.

Secound test. I nulled z then rise the hight to 100mm. Then click to go to z0 and touch the plate. Nothing happened :(.

Have I missed something?

Is homing the same as set it to 0?

Send G28 Z to home it. It is different logic than normal movements.

Ok I tested it. Seems to work well, but if I home z and then touch the plate. It stops, lift a bit, and then I have this massage in the screen, and not able to do any more entrys.

Ok I think I need to do a secound real test. I read another threat, and it says it should touch it twice. 1.So z go down 2. Touch the plate 3. Go up 4. go slowly slowly down, until it touch again. In my test I touch it only one time.

Should I send the g92 Z19.3 comand after homing z or before? Or doesnt matter?

Ok have the solution. In cncjs you can create your own comand buttons. Only put in: G28 Z G92 Z19.3 and name it Home Z. By clicking on the button, it home z and set probe hight to 19,3mm

Hello everybody, I’ve build a lowrider plasma, with a bigtree SKR V1.1 mainboard! I would like to do a home Z with a system like a touch plate, as well the plama cut metal sheet, this one would be a part of the touch plate and the nozzle of the torch the second part! I’ve installed marlin but so far I haven’t succeeded to configure it correctly and it doesn’t work! I’m not able to do a home Z. Has someone a solution? Thanx in advance.

You probably want your own topic.

Check that M119 is working first. That needs to be reliably right before homing will work.

The table is pretty big, and is the nozzle already connected to ground? You need to connect one to ground and one to the Signal pin on the Zmin. Then M119 should show triggered only when they are touching. But all it’s looking for is the S going to ground. It doesn’t know where the electrons are coming from. If the table was grounded or the nozzle was grounded already, then they might be falsly reading as triggered.

I have a full rambo but I think you can do it with the mini as well. I edited the software to allow g38.2, which is the ability to probe xyz directions. That’s what you would use the XYZ plate for.

You don’t need to use G38 unless you can’t use Zmin. We’ve been using zmin as a ā€œprobeā€ for years.

How do you probe with the tool in the xy directions without g38?

Oh. I don’t probe X and Y. Just Z.

There is no X or Y, only Zim!
