I have a Lowrider V4 with the Jackpot Controller. It’s been parked and not used for a couple months. About a week ago, I went to turn it on and home all axes but the machine crashed when homing the Y axis. The limits switches had to be replaced after that since , I mistakenly thought, the limit switches being bent was the reason why the Y0 limit stayed triggered. After replacing the limit switches on the Y axis tonight, Y0 remains triggered. I confirmed this when I entered $Limits command. Even when I manually activate the Y0 limit switch, the triggered alarm stays. I tried flipping how it was connected on the gpio port on the board but it does not light up when I manually trigger it. I think the issue might be the gpio port. Is it possibly to move it to the existing gpio port? Is there anything else I can try to resolve this issue?
Not sure why that would happen but it is an easy fix. open the yaml file and swap the bad port for the unused one. You just need to change the numbers. Reboot and it should be good when you plug it into the other port.
This usually indicates an open circuit in the wiring
I made the change but the results are the same. When I manually trip the limit switch I can see a dim flicker of the green light. I will check my cables next.
The spade connector on one of the wire was the issue. There was a sharp bend because of the angle of the limit switch. I removed it and soldered it instead is now working fine. Thanks for the help.
Glad you got it figured out.
I tried spade connectors once. Several didn’t connect reliably. Now I solder all of them and they all work.
