V1pi CNCjs not working

Hi I need help with connecting to my SKR pro 1.2 Lowrider 4 with CNCjs.

I have used CNCjs with the V1pi on a rasperry pi 3 for a couple of weeks without problems. However I was looking to add a wireless keyboard to make the control easier.

There is an keyboard pendant for CNCjs which I tried to install, but with my limited knowledge I couldn’t get it to work.
I noticed that there is a newer version of CNCjs so I tried to install this, without succes.

Next I tried anouther route, by using ESP3D on a ESP01S, which I also haven’t gotten to work, but that is another subject.

So I thought I do a fresh reinstall of v1pi and continue working the way it was working. Unfortunately, I cannot get it to connect properly anymore. I select the usb port and baud rate 115200. Click connect, and in the console I get the message that it is connected, but after that nothing. The machine is unresponsive, and nothing else shows up in the console screen.

I’m not sure what I can do, as it worked before… Anyone got an idea what could be wrong?

Skr pro should be baud rate of 250k, no hardware flow control and Marlin. Post a pic of your settings if you’re not sure.

Thank you for your reply. I also tested 250k with the same result. I have hardware flow off, and selected Marlin.

I think ttyAMA0 is part of the pi itself, not your skr board.

For what it’s worth, I consistently have to unplug the usb cable on my Pi and plug it into a different port. Something about that resets something in the system and then my cnc.js will connect to the Rambo board. Maybe that helps. Maybe your problem is different. Good luck.

Thanks for your help! Discovered that indeed AMA01 is not the usb port. It seems that the usb port on the skr bord is a bit loose. If I lift the cable a bit when plugged in, the connection appears in cncjs! So it is working again, although it now sometimes disconnects, which is of course not what I want. At least I know what is the cause!

I hope to get the esp3d working, that way the usb is not needed anymore.
