Hello from germany, just to clear things a little bit up. Phil didn’t develop the board. The board was developed from a group member of Phil’s Facebook group. After the board was finished the developer somehow disappeared. So for now he is not available.
Hi everyone, the Board was developed in my FB group by a guy called Till, that’s why it’s called Tillboard . It is custom made for the mpcnc, so that all features of estlcam can be used, spindle start/stop, spindle rpm, endstops, touchplate, 3 ports to control ssr , and lots more, also the drv drivers are already wired in series so you don’t need a wiring harnes , you can plug the steppers directly on to the board. You can also use bigger drivers for nema 23 steppers or close loop stepper, servos … we’re also working on a little adon so we can also use dual endstops. Seems like i have to do a Video in englisch after all…
Btw, the golden mpcnc is a giveaway for reaching 30k subscribers, because it was the mpcnc that made my Channel so popular in Germany, nodody knew the machine untill my video, i suggest that we already have over 1000 mpcnc up and running over here since 2018. Recently i’m developing a new cnc , based on the mpcnc, built on an mpcnc. All i can say is : thanks you very much Ryan, for designing the coolest lowcost cnc ever!
Your videos look like you are having such a good time. Unfortunately the youtube auto translate is not good enough. So I have no idea what is actually going on. My German is limited to counting to ten and Prost!
Love your videos, especially your humor. Your videos gave me a big push to doing mine this past year.
Thanks for the explanations. I can understand about half of the videos. I keep listening and it is getting better, especially getting accents figured out. I studied in Austria and it’s a bit different in Wien.
My brother and his wife are over for the second year in a row to check out the Christmas Markets. I’m trying to get things ready to head over in February.
Hey guys I am Rene from germany too.
I just wanna let you know that we Germans sometimes don’t understand him too.
But some special sentences like “sind sie der Kutterkapitän? Und das ist ihr Fischkutter?” burns us so dramatically in our minds so that we are not even longer able to communicate with not evolved humanity…
For two years ago it starts with this hairy little on guy on Youtube with an aura of cuteness and nativity sight of life so every guy just wanna give him a warm and lovely home. Dangerous game! Since this time he feeds us with neoanglezimen like “ist das denn die possibility!” what’s mean like “is that then the Möglichkeit?” and so much more word twisters… With every video he takes us a little bit more in his rose red world of unicorns and rainbows and give us the feeling of perfect life. Phenomenal!
Sure, for munggles the situations like shaping his ass before running camera just look like a little bit terrifying but they don’t understand his nature of life and will never see him as the rising sun in the darkest asshole…
We love this guy even we not really understand him everytime.
afaik you can use external drivers with the board. i ordered it from the facebook group almost a year ago and its working fine so far. you can even control spindle speed and all that good stuff right out of the box.
Yes, Marco Reps is fond of using that shape. It wasn’t a word I had in class though! And of course the “kaka” icon. The Germans have a wider definition of family friendly and aren’t quite so hung up as the Americans are about these things.
I am the developer of this control board. It was meant to be a community project in the UnclePhils FB group. Apparently, i was the only electronic & electrical enthusiast in this group, so i ended up develop/design the whole control board myself.
I was thinking about offering my design under a complete open source license, but i was inspired by Ryans way of handling the licence issue: You can are allowed to download, produce and improve my design, but i don’t want others to make profit with it by selling it.
I distributed the kit (electronic parts and pcb , not assembled) to many FB group members , until i stopped doing so last September/October for personal reasons.
I again have started to follow activities in Uncle Phils FB group for about a month now again and one of the admins of the FB group is allowed to sell the PCB/kit with my consent.
I have written a German manual for the board and delivered it with the kit for those who have never soldered and/or dont’t have a lot of electronic knowledge.
If you have any questions about this board don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you, stay healthy.
The versioning led to quite a lot of confusion because i gave away all the V1.3 Shields ( I ordered a lot of them) and people were asking me why they don’t get “the new version”, the V1.4 Shield.
If you take a look at the changelog you notice that I only changed libraries in the source files or moved one or two silk screen labels - nothing important.
However, some guys in this FB group have developed (or are still on it?) extension and piggy back boards for this shield for adding Auto Square functionality. Sadly, Estlcams firmware is completely closed source and its quite a hassle to add this useful feature…without touching the firmware.
Thanks for your work Ryan
Greetings from Henrik btw (he tell me say that, but im sure he would want me to )
Thanks for jumping in. I appreciate the clarification on this project. What an amazing contribution. I can only be a cheerleader for everyone since I don’t have the programming skills to assist. But I can solder and this might be a great project to try out. Also good for brushing up on my German!
The firmware doesn’t cost money though, does it? It is all part of the same software package. If anything, enabling more hardware to work with the software that generates revenue would increase revenue.
