The Coffin Board

Not sure if I look British – I don’t know if the funny looks I got in Austria were because they clocked me as a brit, or because my (poor to start with) deutsch is invariably schweizerdeutsch

Not there yet. :yum: Still need to wax and polish, but first the oil has to dry…

It looks wonderful!

I might have planed down the off- centre drip groove, but hey if you hadn’t mentioned it no one would notice.

The cutting board turned out great. I want to make a knife someday also.

Hi @Tokoloshe
really GREAT job! Fantastic.

On etsy you write that you used oil and wax for the surface.
Which oil and wax your are using?

I am currently trying different things for the surface like 2K lacquer and shellac (Schellack).
So it would be interesting which component you are using.

Next week I will pass Oldenburg :joy:
Best Regards

Mineral oil and a mixture of beeswax and mineral oil. :slightly_smiling_face:

If you want to pop in, feel free to do so. I deleted WhatsApp though and only have Threema and Signal. I also never replied to your last mail, sorry. I just forgot. :scream:

Shellac is great, but not for cutting boards.

It might sell for less than I asked, I absolutely know it’s priced a tad high. But I have no pressure selling it. :slightly_smiling_face:
