I hope I’m posting this in the right section, I bought these steppers https://www.omc-stepperonline.com/nema-17-bipolar-59ncm-84ozin-2a-42x48mm-4wires-w-1m-cable-and-connector-17hs19-2004s1.html?search=17hs19-2004s1 They state the current per coil at 2.0 Amps. I’m assuming that is the max current per coil? I am going to be using the DVR8825 stepper drivers which has a max amp out put of 2.2 amps. If I set the amp out put for the motors to 1 amp should I be okay? I will be using heat sinks as well as a fan as active cooling.
Looks alright, we don’t run them at max anyway.

Okay great! So if I set them to 1.7 amps, both steppers should be getting half of that so about .85 amps and that should be enough?
It’s best to run them in series, in which case both will get the full 1.7 Amps.

Yes I was reading about that and will be making up the cables in the next few days. I’m hoping to be doing the crown test by the weekend, then the tweaking begins!
