Smoking Meat

The trailer on Youtube looks pretty good. I’m sure it’ll have a weird slant to it like all reality tv shows do.

The beef short ribs that were shown looked mighty tasty.

I just can’t stand that format of competition tv show. That said I did get through the first episode a while back. I will say that I was proud of my self for being able to predict the outcome of the first episode based just on pretty much the introductions…I guess you can learn to spot a real a pit master when you see one

I’m so old I remember when cooking shows had recipes and stuff.

Netflix is usually better than something like hgtv. The thing that drives me the most crazy is the preview/teaser, fade to black, recap cycles to fill in time around commercials.

I tried watching mythbusters (on hulu now) and it was very hard to watch. Most of the show was them talking about doing one small thing, then doing it, then recapping that thing. It just seems weird without the commercials.

Oh for SURE. Every time they do the fake commercial break I just jump ahead a few clicks on the remote. At least they are consistent about the timing.

I want a mythbusters lite show that cuts them down to the 20 mins of content they really are.

I want a mythbusters lite show that cuts them down to just the Kari Byron content.

I want a mythbusters lite show that literally cuts them down with light.

I never cared for that show.

Only cool part I enjoyed about it was when they explained how they made some of the stuff. Kinda a behind the scenes type look on prop creation.

I always liked the big explosions. A lot of the stuff where they started with a scale model and then made it bigger helps me understand about scale. Some stuff just doesn’t scale well.

In general though, it is an engineering show, and for all the talk of science, it wasn’t very scientific.

Still fun to see them obliterate a concrete truck with explosives though. pew

Back to Meat!

I found out Friday night that a 9.5lb pork shoulder will fit in my Tupperware season and serve. It might fit up to an 11 pounder.

I forgot to take a picture when it came off. Took 10 hours on the pit.

On a sadder note, I had to send my Fireboard in to the shop to be repaired. I went to plug in the USB charger and it broke off inside the device. I tried to see if I could solder it back on myself, but the traces had ripped off.

That is a fine looking but

My ‘repaired’ FireBoard got back to me today.

And by ‘repaired’, I mean, it looks like they just sent me a new unit. I can’t be upset. They charged me $0 for fixing it

That’s some really good service as far as I’m concerned!

That’s a nice butt you have there, sir

I have finally got butt but it took three attempts to spell it without having it autotcrected to but :grinning:

I need to smoke something.

Last thing I smoked was just a chicken. We let it cool down and the wife used the meat for green-chili enchiladas.

I have a couple of jalapenos that the neighbor grew. I’m thinking of wrapping them with bacon and stuffing cheese in them and smoking so appetizers for dinner tonight.

I’d be afraid of the cheese all melting out with the long process of smoking. Maybe smoke the jalapenos first, then stuff and wrap with an oven finish?

oh no. It’s amazing. I’ve done it multiple times.

Look up ABT’s (Atomic Buffalo Turds)

(I’ll do it for you, so you don’t dirty up your search history)
