Slight movement in LR core bearing

Hi all,

I have stripped the plastic holding in the bolt so the head is turning while tightening the nut. There is about 1mm up and down movement on the bearing. Is this important for the top of the core? I’ve ordered normal nuts and locktight to prevent this happening, I know people say use a dril for the self locking nuts but can’t find the connection needed for my drill.

I think the only spot my bearings had play, was the lower most set that has play for tension adjustment later on. I would not use any power tools for any of the assembly, as it’s very easy to overtighten and compromise a printed part.

Thanks Matt,

I just don’t want to risk damaging the core trying to remove the nut if it’s ok as it is. I’ll try removing nut and print another core off if necessary.

Jammed a flat head screwdriver down the side of the bolt head and gently undid the nut. :grinning:
